My recent operation was the third carried out by Mr Dennis. I insisted that he would only have the operation if he was the surgeon.He totally puts you at ease before the operation and his visits to the ward are like meeting a friend. I cannot praise him too highly and thank him for his expertise. David Horner

I was extremely fortunate that Mr Dennis was on hand the night I was taken extremely poorly in 2012 and thanks to him I lived to tell the tale. I have recently had a second surgical procedure under the care of Mr Dennis and his team at PCH. Mr Dennis always has time to listen carefully and answer any questions you may have and even rang my daughter after my recent surgery to let her know all went well and I was returning to the ward. The anesthetists gave me plenty of time prior to the op to consider my options and supported me so well. The ward staff and physio staff were so kind and encouraging. During my stay I felt in extremely safe hands from the moment I arrived and since my return home a member of Mr Dennis' team has rang to check how things are going with regard to pain relief etc and has said she will call again next week. No one wants to have surgery but when you are in the hands of someone like Robert Dennis, who is such a lovely man, you know you will be taken great care of.

From the first moment I met with Mr Dennis I knew I was in great hands.He listened carefully to my long history of ups and downs with my Crohn's disease, but quickly we decided surgury was the best option going forward. He took the time to fully explain the planned procedure including the recovery time need, the risks and also the rewards. When I arrived at theatre he was there to greet me like an old friend and he and his team made sure I was calm and comfortable. Mr Dennis soon visited me when I returned to the ward (A4) to let me know that the operation was a great success and answered a few questions I had. Amazingly he also visited every day to check on my progress and also saw me twice on the day I was discharged to make sure I was happy to leave the wonderful care of the hospital and recouperate at home. He's simply amazing and has changed my life. If you read this Robert , thank you,thank you,thank you. Alan Johnson
